New York Travel Guide

Aug 15, 2013 - The Cloisters Museum and Gardens, New York City

2013 is the year that the Cloisters Museum and Gardens in New York would be celebrating its 75th anniversary and if you have not yet been here, you really have to make time to do so before the end of the year – and make it a trip there with your friends or family members in a New York rental bus. Don’t drive there yourself – make the trip extra special with the service of a rental bus instead. Your friends or family members who will be travelling with you will really appreciate your thoughtfulness on renting a bus instead of you or anyone of them driving.

If this is your first visit to The Cloisters Museum and Gardens in New York City, you may want to know that you need to give at least three hours or more of your time here, so that you get to see and enjoy the beautiful collection of statues and paintings, stained glass windows and tapestries. When you come to this place, you will find that it is authentic, peaceful and serene and if you are looking for a quiet trip, then you have come to the right place. One of the unique exhibits here is the unicorn tapestries – so be sure to have your cameras ready for some beautiful shots of yourself and your entourage. However, do bear in mind to abide by the rule that the photographs that you take in the museum is only for your private viewing and not to be used for any commercial or sold to third parties. Also, if you see a sign that says “No Photography” in some of their special exhibition areas, please respect the regulation set by the museum and not take any pictures.

When you go visiting to The Cloisters Museum and Gardens, there are a few things that you need to know – food and drinks are not allowed but plastic bottle waters may be brought in. While taking photos is not a big issue inside the museum, but flash photography and video cameras are a no-no, so leave them behind at home or if you happened to have brought them along with you, you can always leave them with the New York rental bus driver for safekeeping as you tour the museum. If you are one who enjoys audio tours wherever you go, you will be glad to know that this privilege is also offered at the Cloisters Museum and Gardens. There is also a café there where you can grab a bite and have a cup of coffee or tea when you want to take a break from all the walking.
