Nov 16, 2012 - An Empire state visit
New York is a city so iconic that they named it twice. The best way to visit New York today is by booking your journey by party bus, charter bus, tour bus, mini bus or with kids, a simple school bus with Bus Rentals New York.
Immortalized in Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack 1933 movie King Kong and in black and white pictures of ironworkers sitting on iron girders hundreds of feet high with nary a thought for safety during its construction, the Empire State Building is one of the city’s most recognized and iconic sights of New York city.
Standing at 102-stories high with a roof height of 1,250 feet (381 meters), the Empire State Tower was the world’s tallest building for 40 years third-tallest completed skyscraper in the United States, the fourth-tallest freestanding in the Americas and the 15th-tallest tower in the world.
Charter bus visitors who are visiting the observatory at the Empire State Building is popular amongst visitors to the building and getting to it requires waiting in three lines – security, tickets and elevators queues can be long. Tour bus visitors can skip the security line and ticket lines if you buy an Express Pass (which costs more than double the price of a normal ticket) or, (if you’re watching your budget) just skip the security line if you buy just your tickets online.
Bus rental visitors have the choice of visiting the 86th floor Observatory, which is open air, or the 102nd Floor Observatory, which is glassed-in, and catch simply breathtaking views of New York City. Tickets for the 102nd Floor Observatory can't be bought online and can only be purchased at a kiosk on the 86th Floor.
Here are some tips if you’re considering visiting the Empire State Building. It opens at 8 a.m. and the last elevator ascends at 1:15 a.m. (the Observatory is open until 2 a.m.). The best views are from the outside, on the 86th Floor. Allow at least 2 hours for your visit and be prepared for the security check – Glass and bottles are not permitted in the building. Cameras and camcorders are permitted, but tripods are not. There is no coat/luggage check so you will have to carry whatever you bring in with you.
Last but not least, if you’re planning on getting married there, you can only do so on Valentine’s Day and you'll have to apply and be chosen to participate with applications typically due by November 30.
So make your charter bus visit to New York an iconic one and start by booking your ticket there by bus or limo with Bus Rentals New York.
